Back in the 1990s, all you needed to do if you wanted funding for your business was show up with an interesting company name and slogan … and you’d get all you wanted. These days … not so much. With the economy withering, so is the amount of funding available. To gain venture or angel funding these days, you need a solid business plan. This week’s guest on Startup BizCast is Robert Ochtel, who has written a book entitled Business Plans, Business Planning and Venture Funding. He has tips on how to put your plan together.

I purchased Mr. Ochtel’s book a few weeks back and it is absolutely brilliant. I have never read a book (until now) that had the start to finish of what to do when raising capital.
Thanks for sharing- there’s so much to think about when starting up a small business and trying to raise capital (when you consider business registration, trademarks, investments, tax requirements etc) so it’s great to have a useful guide like this.
